After visit in Plovdiv I paid week ago I realize again how important it is and how it can change a lot.

Amazing and important one for us for sure - In 2005 Milen and Ivo were delegates on EnterCEE...
In 2006 Aga and Ivo were faci there and it was their first international conference to be faci and start fo the MC journey somehow
In 2007 Conference was held in Bulgaria by LC VTU - reviving LC that is growing currently :-)
With Ivo and Steli representing AIESEC in Bulgaria and facilitating contact with our partners and Aga in role of faci from E-Drive team (as Ivo one year ago;-))
And amazing OC team from VTU and not only - ensuring delegates the best conference ever as well as taking care of them before and after conference!!!
We all put our efforts to make this conference amazing!

If we again don't manage to post here at least once a week you have right to say that virtual platform is not useful;-)

So time to update everyone who managed to keep interest in this blog.

1) Recruitment meeting - delivered. AIMS supported as a lot and for me if was strange to see how conference is run in Bulgarian or how people use tolls that are in english in the process run in Bulgarian.

We had time to make after IC update - Discuss Brand eXPerience, GCM and new IS system amazing and exciting. We spent the day in the MC office cause the room on the roof was freezing :-) afterwards some kriwoto meal - dunno why this place is so popular;-)

And discussion on the bench:-)

Saturday - practical skills in interviewing and assessing and afterwards everybody tired- no party just the final X block on sunday -->

AI Visit or the return of Gery - Day 1

It has been a very interesting beginning of the AI visit, having new concept this year being delivered by the CEE GN PM - our Gery.
Today we passed through the current state of AIESEC in Bulgaria, reminding ourselves the targets we have set, identifying highlights, key milestones, sharing our concerns and ...I hope you recognize those faces :) if not use the letters :) This is the MC team characterized by Geraldine after sharing our cool team experience moments.

Situation is actually very good. 23 exchanges realized so far, another 8 matched and certain pipeline secured. EP target for Q3 was hit - 18 AIESEC Bulgaria members went abroad on internship. But there is a lot of work to do to hit the 130 target and build the history of Success.

The second half of the day was dedicated to individual meetings with the MC team members...

As you see its not so easy to write here on the regular basis, but it is nothing to be proud of.
Most probably there is nothing here, cause its hard to move you memory back, that's why instead of referring to things that happened in July - as SFEM, lets think of August and September.
Of course August was the month of IC.
The conference that is always amazing and inspiring, interesting and challenging.
This year our chair shared with us very important words about this conference- it cannot be the event of our life but just one of the great!
That's why our MC team will for sure make it happen, giving you back as much knowledge as possible but also supporting in choosing your destination.
Term 07/08 is global term of achievers!
The time has come
time to make things happen!
Time to prove AIESEC in Bulgaria is relevant to the society, we develop top talents who go throughout the whole AIESEC eXPerience and in the future are change agents promoting positive leadership in the world!

Ok guys, we know we are a little bit terrible:/
We have monthly newsletter, ok!
But the blog used to be a death place.
So ladies and gentlemen time to make up for that, isnt it?
What happened during these two months?
1) MC Planning!
Just after arrival of Aga we went together to the mountain to finish MC planning.
We created individual plan for each of us and added one focus area to what we planned at the national meeting - expanding to the new markets- behind that we want to develop initiatives for setting new LC as well as exploring new markets- students, corporate and non corporate.
We created our vision and set internal rules of MC work.
With getting to know each other and our cultures better we were ready to work:-)

It has already been two weeks since we started work in the full team:-)
First of all, we introduced some changes in the MC office, so now it has fresh look:-)
Boys gave the cupboards new look;-)

Whereas girls were cleaning the cupboards:-)

All these things were inside the MC office... impossible is nothing;-)

Thanks to the changes it is much more comfortable to work in the office and of course our effectiveness has also improved:-)
The whole process was supported by Geri who took above pictures;-)

EXPRO was something really amazing! Actually when going there I didn't know what to expect, I went there straight from election conference of my LC and went to Sofia to meet my MC mates! The whole experience started with our crazy train trip and with every minute it got more and more exciting! Global Village in the center of Belgrade, close to places reminding of Balkan conflict is there any place when peace and fullfillment of human potential can be more symbolic?
Agenda of the conference- designed by AI but actually every indivudal could shape it and take out of it a private eXPerience. So from me it was a life changing week of exploring myself, my abilities, strenghts but also limits in order to realize what kind of leader I want to be.
It was also moment of full ownership of AIESEC in Bulgaria and my first opportunity to represent my future country on international area- really challenging, hope I managed to do this!
Of course we had time to get to know AIESEC focus areas, cee initiatives, but what's most important actively shape our reality!
Last but not least we were able to interact with wena, get various point of view and feedback to our ideas but also show, feel and share AIESEC sppirit!

Bulgaria at Expros!

For me Xpro 2007 was unpredictable, amazing and different XPerience:)
As a part of the Bulgarian delegation and as a part of the seminar I felt responsible to "live" it , to take the maximum of it and last but not least to enjoy every minute in Serbia, in the hotel, attending the sessions, talking to the people and presenting AIESEC Bulgaria by presenting me. And this responsibility was not the easiest I have taken.
The whole seminar was a moment for me, a moment of self discovery, of discovering and knowing the others, of recognizing your role and striving for it!
This power that took me from the very first day, the magic of Xpro and the people, the delegates that made it so amazing will remain in my mind forever. The unforgettable spirit, the sessions that have taken us directly to our role and the people that had a great impact on me - this small things are making me think of what will I do next year and will I ever leave AIESEC ?
And after this one week experience I have had, I am willing to start my new role right now, to bring all the knowledge I gained from Xpro, to meet all these people again, to strive for the goals and to contribute to achieving them, cause I know that small thing are that matter!

It was the 3rd international experience for me, so in the beginning I was not so excited about it:) I expected to have a lot of knowledge and motivation for the next term, to learn something about myself and about the LCP position. It was different from my expectations but in a good way:) The sessions were really great prepared and delivered by people in AI, MCs from all over Europe - really inspiring individuals! The thing that was most valuable for me were the open spaces,breaks, lunches and dinners, parties where I had the chance to chat with amazing people and to have their points of view and great ideas! Sometimes even a small talk with someone can give more than a good prepared session:) Now, after the EuroXpro I'm motivated to work for AIESEC more than ever and I'm eager to meet the challanges on my way! I advise everyone to take the wonderful opportunity of the international expereince - go on a conference, CEED or work for AIESEC abroad! It can totally change your worldview and leave special memories:)

Alumni Oscars Ceremony led by Dobrin Padalski and Ivaylo Dimov. Lots of alumni, awards and good moods…

Second edition of the AIESEC Alumni Oscars took place on BaLDS 007. 15 awards from alumni to membership were bestowed for contribution in various areas of AIESEC achievements. Each winner got a specially designed T-Shirt with initials of the Alumni that donated money for creation of the T-Shirt.

The Alumni OSCARS Fund will give awards throughout the whole year for achievements of members in the area of Exchange.

Rin Comfort Hotel, Bucharest Romania

Hello fellows,
A little bit late with this posting but Christmas is so thoughts consuming (food as well) that i couldn't do it earlier.
So, my 6-day amazing experience in Rin Comfort Hotel in (almost)Bucharest, Romania. (Slightly outside the city 5 mins away from the airport and you can literally planes landing :) ).
The reason for the posting is my attendance at Advanced Training for Capacity Building of NGOs from Bulgaria in Romania. More information about the organziers: www.cso-bgro.net. There were exactly 25 NGOs per country.
The training was comprised of 4 modules: Project Management, Fundraising, PR & Communication and Advocacy & Lobbying.
Each one of them was led by experienced practician in the sphere.
First two days were about practical excercises in two of the mentioned above topics chosen by each delegate. I was privileged to attend the Fundraising modul where i got a lot of useful information for the Structural Funds of EU that will affect Bulgaria in the mid of 2007. There are a lot of operational programs AIESEC as an organization can apply for - HR Development,Transborder Cooperation and so on.
There are also changes in other programs such as Youth, Life Long Learning.
Basically a lot of opportunities for AIESEC however starting from September 2007.
Second module I attended was PR & Communication where we were practicing our public speaking:) Well in AIESEC we do it a lot but i was eager to see myself afterwards on a movie.
Next 2 days were dedicated to key-note speeches by real professionalist and successful people in the spheres.
I was impressed by a middle-age lady that was presenting us her success in corporate fundrasing. She managed to raise 200,000 $ for her NGO in Romania,and belive me it was not just because of her brilliant accent. She was confident, she was experienced, she was actually quite rich and famous - she was Ethan Hawke's mother:).

AIESEC TU opens new office in the University of Architecture

AIESEC in Technical University managed to secure a brand new office in the University of Architecture, Construction and Geodesy in Sofia. The office will be shared with the Career Consultancy Center.
The Opening Ceremony took place on Monday 27th of November at 12.30 in the Administration Building (Rectorat) of the University at 1, Hristo Smirnenski Bld.

Meeting Diversity AIM: To provide dialogue and learning with Bulgarian high school students on EU Integration, Cultural Diversity and Soft Skills Development.

Meeting Diversity Project Background : Bulgaria will be joining the European Union on the 1st of January 2007. At the onset of Bulgaria’s accession, this Project would like to provide high school students with opportunities to gain valuable intercultural and soft skills and abilities to plan their future career by giving them the opportunity to participate in special workshops designed and delivered by AIESEC interns in their high school.

Meeting Diversity Desired Impact:
• High schools students broaden their worldview by interacting with global interns, learning about EU Integration, Cultural Diversity, Soft Skills and they also improve their knowledge in their main foreign language (English).
• Interns will develop their abilities to prepare and deliver quality trainings. Furthermore the experience will enrich their knowledge around EU Integration and Cultural Diversity and will provide them with innovative insights how to further develop their passion. They will also be able to witness the change process in the Bulgarian environment after their accession into the EU.
• High school authorities taking part in the program will be able to introduce innovative ways of teaching and thus improving the quality of Bulgarian education.

AIESEC Bulgaria has Two Nominations for The Annual BBLF Awards

The Annual BBLF Awards for Responsible Business are national and companies from the whole country can be nominated, regardless of their size and the sector, in which they operate.
AIESEC Bulgaria was nominated in “Investor in Knowledge” category for the “Business in Practice” Project.
Erst&Young has applied with their AIESEC partnership for “Investor in Human Capital and Working Conditions” category.

The BBLF Annual Responsible Buisness Awards Ceremony was held on 20th of November, 2006 and was attended by the MC.

The pharmaceutical giant Actavis Bulgaria was recognised with the special award ENGAGE of the Prince of Wales International Business Leaders Forum, handed down to the company by the ceremony's special guest Lord Watson of Richmond.

Among the other official guests of the ceremony were Mr. Ivailo Kalfin, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, H.E. Jeremy Hill, Ambassador of the United Kingdom and other representatives from the state authorities, embassies, companies, etc

Entrepreneurship day

On 9 November, more than 250 young people had the unique opportunity to attend half-day event dedicated to the “hot” topic of Entrepreneurship in four cities in Bulgaria – Sofia, Plovdiv, Veliko Tarnovo and Svishtov.

All students had the opportunity to learn more about:
what is Entrepreneurship,
what are the key factors of success of new business,
which are the institutions and programs for development of entrepreneurship in Bulgaria,
what is the role of Banking sector and more specifically what are the products of Postbank that support start-up of new businesses.

Partnership between the biggest student organization AIESEC Bulgaria and one
of the leading banking institutions Postbank initiated the success of the day.

In addition to the financial support of Postbank, 6 high-performing employees of
the bank took active part as lectors who brought an added value to the success
and quality of the whole event.

Key-note speakers and lectors shared their experience and knowledge and attracted interest of students into essence of Entrepreneurship.

In Sofia:
90 students from Sofia universities attended the Entrepreneurship day organized in the University of National and World Economy under the patronage of gen. Boyko Borissov, Mayor of Sofia.

Emil Ivanov, Predisent of AIESEC in Bulgaria and Prof. Dr.Borislav Borisov Rector of University of National and World Economy welcomed the students as hosts of the event.

Other esteemed speakers were:
Mr. Nikolay Yarmov – Executive Director of Center for Entrepreneurship and Executive
Development,
Mrs. Milena Stoycheva – Executive Director of Junior Achievement Bulgaria,
Mr. Thomas Higgins – Managing Partner of Balkan Accession Fund
and Mr.Deyan Vassilev – Executive Director of Moite Pari.

In Plovdiv:
60 students from Plovdiv university attended the Entrepreneurship day.
Teodora Velikova, Predisent of AIESEC in Plovdiv, welcomed the students.
Other speakers were: Mr. Encho Enev – Executive Director of Endomet AD,
Dimitar Georgiev and Denitza Kortsanova – Executive Director of the European
College in Plovdiv.
Postbank was represented by Mr. Ilian Kirchev who made a very interesting
presentation about the role of banking sector in support of start-up of new
businesses.

In Veliko Tarnovo:
60 students from Veliko Tranovo university attended the Entrepreneurship day.
Irina Dimitrova, Predisent of AIESEC in Veliko Tarnovo, welcomed the students.
The Main speaker was Mr. Shtelyan Kalchev – Executive Director of Remax Connection Veliko Tarnovo.
Postbank was represented by Mr. Plamen Donchev who made a very
interesting presentation.

In Svishtov:

65 students from Svishtov attended the Entrepreneurship day.
The Main speaker was :
Mr. Daniel Pavlov – Lector in Russe University and Head of
the Entrepreneurship Center in the University.
Postbank was represented by Mr. Ivan Ivanov who made a very interesting
presentation.

Lately several Bulgarians were chosen for high- rate positions around the network!
After facilitating a national conference in Serbia, and delivering LC visit in Lithuania as a part of the regional CEE Drive Team, one of you MC members was privileged with another high- rank position on international level.

The EuroTrip of Ivo

My EnterCEE visit to Lithuania has just begun. I arrived this afternoon in Vilnius after 24 hours of travel. City is very nice and I had cool first meeting with the OCPs. Three amazing days are in front of us.
Meanwhile, in the LC office jumped a familiar face screaming IVO :). That was Ilma current MCP of Lithuania. Gil and Rene just entered the office, wow... you can never say that this is your last meeting with someone.
Back to the trip. Yesterday my plane from Sofia to Vilnius via Warsaw took off at 14h BG time. Fortunatelly we arrived on time in the Polish Capital and after 4 hours of waiting in the transit zone of Frederick Chopin Airport we were invited to boarding. Aircraft was smaller than i expected but still cozy enough. We headed to the take-off route when suddenly we made a turn back and we stopped. 45 mins later cabin crew informed us that flight is been canceled.
Time is 22.10 and i'm still in Warsaw (this is the time i was supposed to land in Vilnius). Custmos were very crowded especially the "ALL PASSENGERS" counter. We were directed to the arrivals terminal and took our luggage. God sake a least my luggage was there. After 30 minutes of waiting to re-book my ticket i realized that i'll spend the night in Warsaw AIRPORT Boronda Hotel which was actually pretty nice and cozy. I took a shower and went to sleep. However at 3 o'clock someone was making hell a lot of noise bumping on the doors. I was ready to kill him but suddenly he stopped.
5.25 in the morning, my alarm started to ring. It was time to go and take the bus-shuttle. Well, another surprise - a man sleeping on the floor :):):)
I asked whether he is fine but he just turned to the other side - drunkurds.
6.20 back at the airport. Check in was surprisingly fast. However passing customs took much more time. I turned out that they forgot to stamp my passport on my way out of the airport last night so i spend 30 mins of persuading customs police and the chief imigration officer in particular to let me go. I was pissed-off beacuse they were not even speaking English. So imagine myself speking with gestures and explaining in English to the poor guy. How a pitty.
Well i forgot to mention that i ws going to take the transit fligth via Vienna to go to Vilnius. Another 1500 km.
So exactly 24 hours after my take-off from Sofia airport the plane landed at Vilnius, Lithuania. Thanks God i managed to come here:).
Looking forward to my way back home :) who knows where i will go through then.

Difference is what you make of it. People really see it: every day! The starting point is now, we have to run fast forward in order to take the Gold. In this 5x relay race we are the first ones to run and then to pass the torch. The beginners are the most excited ones about winning because the way they start will define the way of finishing of the last ones receiving the torch. The Ones who begin the race will also be Winners.
